Best Samsung Galaxy Note 5 cases

slideshow imageIf you need a budget option, these Olixar FlexiShield Gel Cases for Samsung Galaxy Note 5 cost just £5.99 from MobileFun but provide decent protection for your phone. Slim and stylish, the gel cases add very little in terms of weight or bulk.

With their flexible design, Olixar FlexiShield cases are easy to take on and off, and the non-slip design adds extra grip. All the Note 5’s ports and connections are easily accessible, too.

Although the Olixar FlexiShield cases cling only to the rear and sides of the Note 5, a slightly raised lip helps protect the screen when placed face down.

We tried the Black and Purple versions, and other colours are available.

Following the same theme as the silicon cases is this Ringke Slim case for Note 5, which costs £11.99 from MobileFun. The key difference is its tough, rigid design, but the Ringke Slim is nevertheless easy to take on and off thanks to grooves in each corner of the case that let it flex just enough to remove the phone.

The Ringke Slim is, as its name suggests, super-slim, adding little to the Note 5’s size and weight and slipping easily into a pocket. We love the premium feel of this case – it’s polycarbonate plastic, yet somehow soft and silky to the touch. Rearth says it uses a ‘dual-coating’ technology that makes the case two times more durable and last twice as long.

The Ringke Slim has a slightly raised lip above the screen to protect it when lying face down on a flat surface, and also at the rear to protect the camera. On the left side of the case you’ll also find a couple of holes designed to allow you to attach a strap or lanyard.

Tougher still is this Olixar ArmourDillo Hybrid Case, also from MobileFun at £12.99.

This is a true rugged case for Note 5, mixing a TPU inner case with a hard impact-resistant exoskeleton, offering the ultimate protection for your Samsung Galaxy and a cool-looking two-tone design. We tried the ArmourDillo in blue/black; you can also get it inblack/grey, red/black, and green/black.

As you’d expect there are cutouts for all the Note 5’s ports and connections. There’s also a textured grid finish that adds grip, and a fold-out stand on the rear that lets you prop up the Note 5 in landscape orientation when you want to watch a video or film.

Another rugged case with a flip-out stand is this stylish Spigen Slim Armor model, available for £13.99 from Amazon. It comes in Champagne Gold, Gunmetal, Metal Slate and Violet.

The Spigen builds in Air Cushion Technology to improve drop protection, but otherwise builds on the same soft TPU interior and tough polycarbonate exterior as the Olixar ArmourDillo. The flip-out stand is done very well, and you might not even realise the Spigen badge on the back has a secondary function.

Cutouts for the Note 5’s ports and connections are all present and correct.
